Zilberschmuck invites Canadian jewellers and metalsmiths to participate in the sixth annual national juried jewellery arts exhibition.
What is your interpretation of the word “BOND”? Is it something that binds, fastens, confines and holds something together; or a rope, cord, ligament or a band? Or could it be a binding relationship from circumstance or behaviour? Do friendships or groups influence the outcome of the piece due to obligation, duty or responsibility? Is there a binding agent or is the adhesion of two substances or objects that create the bond? Does a chemical, electrical or financial bond cause or influence a reaction in the piece? How can these ideas be formalized into a three-dimensional piece?
Zilberschmuck invites jewellers and metal artists to participate in a juried exhibition exploring formal and conceptual manifestations of the word “BOND”. Artists are invited to forge, form or fabricate reflecting their response to the meaning of the word “BOND”.
Create up to three different pieces of wearable metal work containing a significant amount of metal, but not excluding gemstones, pearls, glass, etc., reflecting the theme and send the work along with an accompanying essay, 150 words or less, to explain your interpretation. The competition is open to all professional and student metal artists living and working in Canada.
The entries will be judged on their craftsmanship, design and responsiveness to the theme.

Zilberschmuck invite les artisans qui travaillent le métal et joailliers canadiens à participer à la sixième exposition nationale annuelle de joaillerie d’art.
Quelle est votre interprétation du mot «Lien»?
Est-ce quelque chose qui attache, lie ou qui tient les choses ensemble; une corde, d’un ruban, d’un ligament? Ou serait-ce une relation qui a pris naissance suite à un comportement ou à une circonstance? Est-ce que des groupes ou des amis influencent le résultat de la pièce à cause d’une obligation, d’une tâche ou d’une responsabilité? Serait-ce un agent de liaison? Ou le résultat du mélange de deux substances ou de deux objets? Y a-t-il un lien chimique, électrique ou financier qui cause ou influence une réaction à la pièce?
De quelle façon ces concepts peuvent-ils être matérialisés dans un objet en trois dimensions?
Zilberschmuck vous propose d’explorer les manifestations formelles et conceptuelles du mot « Lien ». Les artistes sont invités à forger, former ou fabriquer une œuvre reflétant leur interprétation du thème.
Créez jusqu’à trois différentes pièces portables contenant majoritairement du métal, mais n’excluant pas les pierres, les perles, le verre, etc. qui reflète la thématique et envoyez les pièces avec un texte de 150 mots ou moins expliquant votre interprétation. Le concours est ouvert à tous les professionnels et étudiants travaillant le métal qui vivent et pratiquent au Canada.
Les candidatures seront jugées sur la qualité technique des œuvres, l’originalité et le lien avec la thématique.
